Friday brought an emotional surprise when Debbie LaFleur was reunited with her missing Yorkshire Terrier, Kingston—a dog that had been missing for five years. “Never,” LaFleur said. “I never thought I’d see him again.”
Kingston vanished in 2020 after Hurricane Laura tore through Lake Charles, Louisiana. Despite LaFleur’s efforts to find him, there were no leads. Her beloved pet had seemingly disappeared without a trace.
This week, Kingston unexpectedly turned up 300 miles away. He was found sitting on the back porch of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity House at the University of Southern Mississippi.
The discovery shocked everyone involved. No one could have predicted the tiny dog’s journey or how he survived all those years.
For LaFleur, it was the reunion of a lifetime—and a moment she never thought she’d experience.
